Dallas Green, the canadian singer/songwriter behind City and Colour, released his 4th studio album today, June 4th 2013. This album explores a variety of backing instruments not previously noted in his past albums. He shifts his sound quite a bit, with the addition of an electric guitar in “Thirst”. The album begins with the title track opening up as the previous sound of City and Colour. As the album progresses, we hear his musical development and maturation from his start as a solo artist. He achieves the serious mood with his lyrics, but the instruments provide a kind of lighthearted attitude about them.
