Having featured on Soft Concrete earlier in the year, we asked Mancunian singer/songwriter ‘Rick Kevill’ to submit his playlist for us. See what tunes have hooked him and put him in a good mood!
1. Richard Ashcroft – A Song For The Lovers
I’ve always loved Richard Ashcroft & The Verve. This song and its video is amazing.
2. The National – Little Faith
This song and any other from the album ‘High Violet’ instantly takes me back to the time I first listened to it. You must check out that album when you have a minute!
3. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Thrift Shop Feat. Wanz
Not normally my cup of tea and not something I’d listen to at home, but it’s so catchy I thought I’d give it a mention. I would definately ask a DJ to give it a spin.
4. The XX – Angels
5. Kings Of Leon – Manhattan
This tune instantly puts me in a good mood within two seconds! Great track, great album. This band could never leave my iPod!
6. Coldplay – In My Place
Came across this song the other day for the first time in a while. Coldplay’s ‘X&Y’ album for me is their best work, with ‘Parachutes’. But since I heard it, I realised (probably more than I did at the time) how good this song is!
Thanks Rick!
