Beauty Corner: M.strand’s Handmade Soaps

While wandering around Covent Garden Market I came across a stand that caught my eye. Carrying lotions, soaps, and flower crowns, the M.strand stand is paradise for anyone looking for handmade goods. Having been around for thirteen years, this family owned company based in London is extraordinary.

When I visited the small stand I was overwhelmed with the amount of products they had. It took me awhile to decide on what to get but when I did, I had the biggest smile on my face. I picked up their cinnamon soap and their lavender one as well. Unlike most soaps, these soaps come in a cylinder shape and it is recommended that you cut off a small strip from the bottom to use, instead of using the whole soap. Each thin strip you cut off seems to go a long way and the aroma of the soap lingers in the room for hours. What I came to realize is that the cinnamon soap’s smell is extremely strong and great for cinnamon fans like myself. The lavender one is light and smells like… well, lavender, of course!

The soap leaves your skin smelling nice as well as the room once you use it. It’s also a nice change from using the same old bars of soap that one can find at grocery stores. Plus, each soap looks like a work of art and makes the ones at grocery stores look dull. You can tell that a lot of time and energy was put into making these soaps, as well as all the other products that they sell.
