From the Welsh music scene to the Colombian jungle, Rise of the Super Furry Animals, tells the tale of the famous Welsh band like no other. It gives great insight into the minds of the members and covers what it’s really like to be in a band that pushes the boundaries.

Ric Rawlins did an amazing job in Rise of the Super Furry Animals. Every chapter and page is full of ridiculous stories, making it hard to put down the book. Not only does the book cover the story of the Super Furry Animals (SFA), but it gives us an insight into the Welsh music scene as well as political issues that the band and many others had to face.

The crazy tale of SFA is one that need not be forgotten and Rawlins seemed to have the same idea when he wrote this book. From the detailed story of the band’s trip to Colombia to the times that the group spent in the recording studio, every elaborate story that was covered did an incredible job at defining “fuzzy logic”.

Prior to this book, I had no idea who SFA was and wasn’t exactly sure what to expect from the book. I did a little research on the band and found out the basics like how many albums they have, where they’re from, etc. The book however covers so much more than any website one would come across when searching the world wide web. That is why I give Rawlins an A+ for his detailed account of the history of SFA.
