Alternative rock takes a new form in the Melbourne-based band, Cold Hiker, with their music combining tranquil melodies with odd-time signatures. Their self-titled debut EP showcases their knowledge of music theory and how to combine sounds that are quite different from another. Their sound is surely something beyond their years and it is quite a shock that this is just a band of 20 year olds.
Cold Hiker was only formed in 2010 after meeting on Chatroulette, but you would think that they’ve been a band longer than two years. They released their debut EP just this year and it sure turned heads in the music industry, allowing them to be seen supporting the likes of British India, Custom Kings, and Stonefield. This band is ready to take the world by storm and bring a new style of alternative rock into the industry.
They aren’t on tour at the moment, but be sure to like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter to find out when they’re coming to a town near you.
