There’s something so comforting and heart-wrenching about Prateek Kuhad’s video for “cold/mess”.
The stunning video was shot on 16mm film in Mumbai and shows the highs and lows of a relationship. Similar to a rubber band, the couple appear to always snap back into place after an argument but also like a rubber band, the elasticity fades over time. From the laughs, the tears, the screams, the kisses, to the final realization that there is no energy left to continue the fiery passion between them; it is jaw dropping.
Prateek Kuhad’s vocals drip with emotion and everything about this track makes the video so much more heart-wrenching; leaving the viewer and listener with goosebumps from beginning to end. With every chord hit and every verse sung, there is a feeling of solace and warmth.
