UMe and Dreambear have teamed up to create a three-episode mini-docoseries titled ‘Get Down, The Influence Of James Brown’. The mini-series will explore the sonic DNA of “The Godfather of Soul” himself and highlight how his quintessential soul sound is deeply rooted in the fabric of Hip-Hop today.

The doco-series will be narrated by Questlove (The Roots, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon) and feature Lord Finesse and Andre Torres (Co-founder/former EIC of Wax Poetics Magazine) and premiere on 10th July. The first episode titled ‘Funky Drummer’ will be the beginning of an epic journey depicting the creation of James Brown’s unique sound and will highlight why he is one of the most sampled artists of all-time.
